I have been reviewing this site for days now and absolutely love the project. What is cooler than bringing homebrew software and beer together? I have been digging through this forum and I cannot for the life of me find up to date information on a parts list and where to find them. I see the arduino board has been replaced few times and even the valves and flowmeters are pretty hard to find. Would someone point me in the right direction? This project will bring me more joy than you will ever know. Thank you very much to all participants.

The current parts list for the current kegboard shield can be found here:
http://kegbot.org/wiki/Kegboard_Parts

The shield and coaster can be purchased from here:
http://kegbot.org/kegboard/

As for the flow meter there are a couple of options. There is the Vision 2000 and the SwissFlow 800. The Vision 2000 is kind of hard to find now, I bought mine from Mike years ago. I know the SF800 can be found, and several of the members have done group buys, perhaps they can chime in on details.

As for the solenoid valve, this is something I've been looking into for about a year now. There are lots of valves out there that will work, however I've yet to find the 'perfect' valve for this application.

Geoffculp has a pretty comprehensive parts list that list just about everything you may need to build a kegbot.

Thank you for your reply. Please forgive my ignorance, so the first link you sent me is for if I want to make the board myself and the second link is for the board already in tact? Could you please explain what exactly a shield and a coaster is? I presume they are two parts of the kegboard itself and need to be put together along with an Arduino? I feel like I am very mistaken. Could you please explain a bit farther? Thank you very much.

First off there are 2 boards that are used in the kegbot setup. The first is an arduino shield, this connects to an arduino via stack-able headers. The second board is the 'coaster', this board lives inside your kegerator and is attached to the flow meter and temperature sensors. These two boards are connected via a standard CAT5 ethernet cable. The boards are available for purchase through the second link. The boards are un-populated, meaning the components must be purchased separately and soldered to the board. The list of components is found in the first link. Depending on your setup you may or may not need any of the boards. I ran my kegbot for a long time with the sensors connected directly to the arduino. Also, depending on what features you plan to use on the kegbot, not all of the shield need populated, for example if relays are not required, about half of the components are not required.

I am also kind of new to this whole thing. If I buy all of the items from SparkFun/RadioShack along with the flow meter and shield/coaster combo from this site, what do I still need? Just an Adruino Uno and a PC? Is there any way to use a jailbroken iPod Touch as the front end and have it send the information to my computer (which is far away from my kegerator at the moment) via WiFi? I am just trying to get an idea of the overall cost associated with this project before I go buying things. Thanks for any help or insight you may have. This is exactly what I was dreaming up when I wanted to nerd up my kegerator!

Goliath, great info that's exactly what I'm trying to figure out!

Thanks!
