It's great to see others bring the tech into the kegerator. The past few weeks I have been working on the same type of device. Mine does not track users, but this is something in the works. Here's a quick run down on what I have
Freebie freezer Basic Stamp 2 ds1602 in high res mode Triac driving a 24v relay for the compressor 16*2 parallel lcd 2 tri-color leds Flexiforce sensor
Software features
Short-cycle timer on the compressor (min off time) Upper and lower beer temps Status leds for: cooling on, beer temp ok, anti-cycle compressor lockout. lcd displays "Beer Temp: xxF" & "xxx% remaining" high res on the temp ~.01 deg F
Near future add-ons:
Flexiforce sensor to weigh keg to determine % remaining. This is something I hope to make auto sensing, i.e. 1/2 or 1/4 barrel and adjust the % remaining.
Have LCD scroll between sensor readings and keg facts. i.e. cups of beer to the keg, weight, oz in keg, etc
Long term
I have used the siteplayer in other projects and have a spare one, I will most definitely have my kegerator on my website in the next 6 months. What better diversion from work than to stare at my beer temps from work on a Friday.
Super long term
Write a VB app or php script to read in the data from the siteplayer and fill a sql database. This would allow for consumption/tend logging! Maybe start a charity website...please pledge $5 for every gallon I drink, all monies collected will go to my alcoholism! LOL!
One question I have for you is what is the make/model of the flow meter used on the kegbot?? I have seached high and low on the kebot pages with no luck.
