I was wondering if anyone knew. If I buy one of the PCBs from mike can I use that same board to program my chip or will I still need to buy or build a developer board. Thanks.

It really depends on what type of PIC Mike went with. If he stuck with the 16F84, the programmer is pretty simple. You can pick one up on eBay for about $5. On the other hand, if you've never done PIC programming before, it might be easier to avoid the hastle and just buy one of Mike's prepogrammed ones. I burned through quite a few PICs back when I was getting started, and if you only need it for this one project, buying it preprogrammed is probably best.
