Keg Project and Temperature Sensor

Hello, i was hoping to find some help. I am starting a Keg project. What i have is a TS-7300 arm board with a linix OSd loaded on it. I also have an old Kegerator. The first step i want to accomplish is to have it use a temperature sensor and read the internal temp inside the kegerator. If less than my desired temp, i will have it update a monitoring website. I intend for this to be portable. If needed i have just unhook it from my kegerator and put it in another with as little hassle as possible. Can any one provide some idea's on what kind of temperature sensor i will need? Does anyone know of a good retailer who may sell these?

Keg Project and Temperature Sensor

Hi there,

Temperature sensing and reporting are a subset of features supported by Kegbot's controller Kegboard, so you could certainly start from there.

If you want a digital sensor, the DS18B20 is a pretty popular choice. Analog choices include TMP36 or LM335. There are probably many others..

For temperature sensing, you can simply use a 1N4148, or similar diode. http://www.capgo.com/Resources/Temperature/Semiconductor/Semi.html Check out part 5.. I'm going to be doing this with my kegbot once I get the time to etch my board.
